Application of the Theory of Constraints for Railway Personnel

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present a research leading to the innovation of the railway personnel’s work organization system and conditions. It deals with the issue of their performance and the position in the transport process. The concepts are theoretically defined, followed by an analysis of the staff’s role in the process using model examples. The theory of constraints is applied too, first in theory but supplemented by real examples. Some of these critical points and weakest links are highlighted as well as the possibilities how they can be eliminated. The possible synergistic effects are mentioned too.
