Shape Characterization of the Corpus Callosum in Schizophrenia Using Template Deformation

Abstract We use template deformation morphometry to demonstrate regional shape differences in the corpus callosa of 100 patients with schizophrenia. We first use a k-means clustering segmentation algorithm followed by a curve-registration method. Statistical parametric mapping shows an area of contraction in the anterior callosa of patients. Furthermore, patients failed to show an age-related expansion in the splenium seen in controls.
