The Research Literature on Why Women Delay in Seeking Medical Care for Breast Symptoms

Roberts has described a theoretical model for consideration of forces affecting action to seek medical care promptly or to delay after observation of symptoms suggestive of cancer.lhI.’KI This framework grew out of her earlier retrospective study of 71 women with undiagnosed breast abnormalities,&dquo;&dquo; an investigation from which provocative findings anticipated and possibly influenced the formulation of what has come to be referred to as the Hochbaum or Rosenstock &dquo;health
