A compact monopole antenna for WLAN applications

In this paper, a printed monopole antenna with simple structure, small size, and easy to design is proposed. The antenna consists of a bent L-shaped monopole extended from the ground and an L-shaped strip connected to the feed line. The bent L-shaped monopole with an L-shape strip coupled to excited the low and high band. By proper adjusting the parameters of the antenna, an antenna for WLAN application can be obtained. The bandwidth of the antenna can cover the bands of WLAN system; therefore the antenna may be a good candidate for WLAN antenna on USB devices.
