SSBIE:Supernode Selection Based on Information Exchange in P2P Overlay Network

The selection of supernode is the main problem of constructing supernode-based P2P overlay. Differing from the general supernode selection which is only based on physical capability such as bandwidth, CPU processing ability, storage spaces and so on, supernode selection based on information exchange(SSBIE) is presented in this paper considering delay, physical distance, information exchange frequency,information exchange time and degree of querying similarity. SSBIE selects the supernode to solve the free-rider problem by each node's score. The experimental results show that the SSBIE improves the file querying success rate, decreases the average querying hops and querying delay in P2P super-node overlay.
