An improved Templeman's algorithm for the optimum design of trusses with discrete member sizes

The algorithm for the optimum design of trusses using discrete member sizes which was given by Templeman and Yates7 is improved in this paper. A 0-1 simplex method is proposed and some numerical examples are reported.
