Cross-Cultural Studies of Psychophysiological Responses During Stress and Emotion

Abstract Les AA. abordent l'etude du choc (stress) psychologique et de l'emotion dans les termes de l'analyse des systemes: analyse des divers types de variables d'entree (stimulus) et de sortie (reponses); relations de ces variables avec un proccssus mediateur d'evaluation cognitive (cognitive appraisal); celui-ci implique cles structures qui component un sous-systeme de traitement de l'information dont les operations dependent, en partic, de facteurs de personnalite et de culture. Ils decrivent une experience type pour l'etude de ce modele et discutent de la relation entre les mesures psychologiques et les estimations subjectives du choc emotionnel. La methocle utilisee pour etudier le proccssus d'evaluation cognitive qui intervient dans le choc psychologique et l'ernotion est illustree par plusieurs experiences qui ont ete conduites sur des Americains; les reactions a des films “choquants” sont manipulees par l'ecoute prealable de commentaires qui, evoquant certains mecanismes de defense du moi, ont po...
