An incremental estimation technique for predicting a bandwidth of robust performance

This paper investigates how to utilise data to predict a robust performance bandwidth for model-based controllers. The procedure relies on a stochastic embedding approach, in which unmodelled dynamics are viewed as the realisation of a stochastic process in the frequency domain. This enhances estimation of a nominal model by an associated model error quantification. It is shown how this joint information can be used to predict a bandwidth of robust performance. For cases where appropriate model- and controller-orders are not known a priori, an iterative identification/controller design procedure emerges.<<ETX>>
