SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETIC ENERGY STORAGE BASED PARALLEL PROCESSING UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM AND ITS CONTROL STRATEGY

A superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) based parallel processing uninterruptible powersupply (UPS), which can realize multiple power qualityconditioning functions, is described. In this device only one bi-directional current source converter is employed andSMES coil is used as storage component. In accordancewith the structural feature and working principle of thedevice, a decoupling and feed forward compensatingcontrol strategy based on the pre-compensation for supply current is presented. By means of the experiment withprototype model, the effectiveness of the presented control method and the structure of this device are verified.
