Two-step strategy for black-start zone partitioning of power system after blackout

The parallel restoration strategy is used to speed up the power system restoration after blackout, for which,a two-step strategy is proposed for the black-start zone partitioning. In the first step,a grouping model of generators to be restored is built with the minimum generator restoration time as its objective to guarantee the fast unit startup. In the second step,a partitioning model of power system map is built with the minimum tie-line quantity and the minimum absolute active power summation as its objectives for the black-start zone partitioning with certain restraints. The well-developed commercial tool ILOG CPLEX is adopted to solve two models and a network topology simplification principle is proposed to keep the line information as much as possible while reduce the computation load. The New England 10-unit 39-bus system is employed to demonstrate the developed models and method.
