Fast image processing with special chips

Abstract In this paper, a modular real-time image processing system working with the AMS-Bus is described. Each module and its function is described together with the concept of working with a pipeline and/or a bus for transferring image data from module to module. Some special chips for image processing are described. Their features and the way of using them in image processing systems is shown while describing the mathematical background of their operations in an overview.
