An ion-aerosol model study for the stratospheric conductivity under enhanced aerosol condition

An ion-aerosol model study of the str ato spheric ion conductivity is made for an enhanced aerosol condition of th e region. For analyzing the effect of aerosols on conductivity, th e aerosol number density alone is not sufficient. From thi s study it is fou nd that the aerosol ion-small ion recombination coefficient (a.,) determine s the extent to which aeroso ls ca n reduce the conductivity of the stratosphere. This necess itate s the requirement of experimental measurements of a., along with simultaneously measured aerosol den sity and conductivity in the region.
