Effect of a Slit in a Ground Conductor of Broadband Planar Antenna with an Offset Elliptical Element

The broadband planar antenna with an elliptical element and a ground conductor with a slit is proposed. The position of a feeding point of proposed antenna is offset from center of ground conductor. The proposed antenna is analyzed by using FDTD method, and is discussed for return loss characteristics and radiation patterns. It is cleared that offsetting the feeding point is effective for broadbanding, and showed that adding a slit in the ground conductor is effective for improvement of radiation patterns. In this paper, these results are described.
