MOISTURE DAMAGE OF ASPHALT PAVEMENTS AND ANTISTRIPPING ADDITIVES: CAUSES, IDENTIFICATION, TESTING AND MITIGATION
暂无分享,去创建一个
Moisture damage to asphalt pavements is a serious durability problem throughout Canada. Stripping resistance (moisture susceptibility) testing for specific aggregate-aspalt cement combinations should be an integral part of asphalt mix design procedures. This manual provides guidance on the mitigation of moisture damage of asphalt pavements, with focus on stripping potential testing and the appropriate use of antistripping additives. The manual is based on: a technical literature review; questionnaires to highway materials engineers and asphalt cement suppliers; and a comprehensive laboratory evaluation of stripping potential test methods, use of antistripping additives (typical liquid and hydrated lime), testing a number of aggregate-asphalt cement-antistripping additive combinations and testing to determine the field efficacy of antistripping additive use.
