Advances in Hand and Wrist Arthroscopy

Summary: Hand and wrist arthroscopy has gained popularity over the past few decades. Arthroscopy is a valuable diagnostic tool in cases where clinical and radiographic findings do not show a clear picture of the patient’s pathologic condition. Arthroscopy also allows care providers to perform therapeutic interventions in a less invasive manner than would have been possible with a standard open approach. Over the past three decades, there have been substantial advances in the techniques and outcomes in hand and wrist arthroscopy. With this article, the authors aim to introduce the application of newer arthroscopic techniques in the hand and wrist that may be of diagnostic and/or therapeutic value.
