Implementation of IEEE 802.16e MIMO-OFDMA Systems with K-BEST Lattice Decoding Algorithm

This paper presents an implementation of IEEE 802.16e MIMO-OFDMA systems using a fixed-point DSP. Among the various MIMO detectors, the proposed system is based on K-BEST lattice decoding algorithm that shows the performance close to maximum likelihood (ML) receiver, the optimum receiver for MIMO systems. As a result, computation-efficient fixed-point algorithms are proposed and real-time system based on IEEE 802.16e 2times2 MIMO-OFDMA system is implemented.
