Flexibilidad e innovación: el efecto moderador de la cooperación

This paper analyzes the moderator effect of inter-organizational cooperation on the relationship between innovation and flexibility. The results of a survey to 156 Spanish firms indicate that inter-organizational cooperation moderates the relationship between flexibility dimensions and innovation performance. The positive impact of func- tional flexibility on innovation performance is greater in high-cooperation firms than in low-cooperation firms. On the other hand, the negative impact of external flexibility is less important in high-cooperation firms. The article discus- ses the implications of these results for managerial practice.
