ABSTRACTWith the rapid and intense development of Computer Technology and communication, there had been a significant change in the outlook of world in human perspective. Computers playing the key role in technological development, started creating a virtual world where everything is virtual from shopping, money to data and files. This technological advent not only redefine the human life but also the redefined crime and terrorism. Crimes have also become virtual which are defined as cyber crimes and Cyber Terrorism. Even more disturbing are new styles of cyber-terrorism made possible by the big quantity of the physical machinery currently operated by computers. The govt. has been looking for ways for curbing of these sorts of crimes; there are many laws made and many are being considered. Penalization aside, preventing cyber crime is very important. After all, it's not possible to eliminate all technical loopholes. This paper deliberately attempts to define the word 'cyber crime' and also deals with various types of cyber crimes and a statistical analysis of the crimes in various countries. It highly targets on world's largest corporation and government entities. The estimated annual cost over global cyber crime is 100 billion. There are more than 360 million internet users in the world. Nevertheless, with no executions on criminal sanctions globally against the criminal actions of cyber crimes the ultimate criminal defense will still remain specifically within the jurisdiction.Cyber crimes are detected when the individual or institution notices large amount of money are unreasonably withdrawn from their accounts, or their system.
