Radio-Frequency Predistortion Linearizer Using a Diode for Millimeter-Wave Power Amplifier

This paper presents a millimeter-wave predistortion linearizer, which used a GaAs Schottky diode with a bias feed resistance and a parallel capacitor. This linearizer has gain expansion and phase shift characteristics, and those characteristics can be adjustable, especially for its phase characteristic,it has stronger adjustability.By applying this linearizer to a 30GHz-band power amplifier which has 10 watt saturation output power, and using a two-tones prompting signal with 5MHz spacing, the improvement of IMD3 has been achieved more than 15dBc.This linearizer has simple structure, and is adjustable, low cost and easy to be fabricated. Therefore,it is valuable for engineering application.
