Synchronization and pattern recognition in a pulse-coupled neural net

A pulse-coupled neural network is developed to model pattern recognition by the human brain. Inputs and outputs of an idealized neuron are expressed in such a way so as to render a basic equation for the phase shift. A previously studied synergetic computer is capable of pattern recognition; when equations for the pulse-coupled neural network are transformed for comparison to the computer model, pattern recognition results in the limit of dense pulses.
