Heat Transfer Measurements in Turbulent Liquid Flow Through a Vertical Annular Channel

A number of experimental studies have been reported on heat transfer in turbulent liquid flow through heated annuli. The experimental work reported here is a continuation of an earlier study of turbulent liquid flow through a vertical concentric annulus with the inner wall heated (constant heat flux) and the outer wall insulated. The measurements have been made in a region where the velocity and temperature fields are expected to be fully developed. For the experiments reported here, the effect of free convection may be neglected since the ratio Gr/Re{sup 2} is much less than unity even at the lowest Reynolds number.
