Analysis on dynamic interaction between SVC and TCSC controllers

The EREA(Effective Relative Energy Array) method is applied to analyze the interaction between two typical kinds of FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) controller,which is influenced by the steadystate gain and dynamic characteristics of the elements of its transfer function. The interaction among multiple FACTS controllers is quantitatively analyzed,which can be used as a reference during the variables matching and allocation of FACTS controller. The interaction among FACTS controller is verified with the New England system with SVC(Static Var Compensator) and TCSC(Thyristor-Controlled Series Compensator) for different electrical distances and the time-domain simulation validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed analysis method.
