An Ultra-Compact Multimode Waveguide Crossing Based on Subwavelength Asymmetric Y-Junction

An ultra-compact multimode waveguide crossing composed of a pair of asymmetric Y-junctions based on subwavelength structures is proposed and demonstrated with a footprint of 34× 34 um2, low insertion loss < 1.5 dB.
