When inverse filtering speech signals, many theoretical approximations and practical difficulties are involved. Therefore, care must be taken when interpreting inverse filter results. In this paper it is studied what constraints are needed to obtain reliable separation of source and filter parameters. Inverse filter results are presented based on a Robust ARMA analysis method running in a pitch synchronaus mode. It is shown that these results are highly accurate for closed vowels and voiced
