Abstract Distribution management is concerned with the location of facilities, routing, and scheduling of vehicles and crews between the facilities to meet given objectives. Decision problems arising in distribution management are spatial in nature. This paper presents a method for the development of decision support systems based on geographic information systems for solving facility location and logistics problems.
