A new model of LPC excitation

This paper presents a model of LPC excitation in terms of singular value components of the impulse response matrix of the LPC filter. This representation allows a systematic study of changes in the filter excitation on the speech output. The model is applied to Chinese speech synthesis to obtain an 8 kbps synthesis scheme which keeps the quantization noise inaudible.<<ETX>>
