4×4 High-Speed Switching Subsystem with VOA (< 10 µs) Using PLZT Beam-Deflector for Optical Burst Switching

We developed a 4×4 high-speed optical switch subsystem using PLZT beam-deflector with variable optical attenuation (VOA). We demonstrate 5.5 µs switching with automatic power control by VOA to obtain the desired output power for optical burst switching.
