Trisilylmethane as a structural backbone in multifunctional lithium amides: syntheses and structures of HC{(CH3)2SiN(Li)-tert-Bu}3 and its solvate HC{(CH3)2SiN(Li)-tert-Bu}3.cntdot.2THF

The trisilylmethane derivatives HC{(CH 3 ) 2 SiH} 3 and C 6 H 5 C{(CH 3 ) 2 SiH} 3 have been synthesized. Bromination and subsequent aminolysis with t-BuNH 2 yielded HC{(CH 3 ) 2 SiNH-t-Bu} 3 and C 6 H 5 C{(CH 3 ) 2 SiNH-t-Bu}{[(CH 3 ) 2 Si] 2 N-t-Bu}, respectively.
