POPLITEAL CYSTS AND THEIR RUPTURE IN THE RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIC SIMULATING THROMBOPHLEBITIS

Rheumatoid popliteal cyst and its complications are described. Ruptured calf cyst can be confused with deep venous thrombosis. Six cases are reported, three of which were misdiagnosed; one patient developed the complication of anticoagulation. The management of this condition is described.
