Some Mathematical Aspects of the Grating Theory

This chapter deals with mathematical considerations needed for the understanding of grating problems: a survey of some properties of the solutions of the Helmholtz equation, of uniqueness and reciprocity theorems, and of the foundations of Yasuura’s improved point-matching technique.
