Review of Research on the Hydroelasticity of Ship

During the past nearly three decades great progress has been made in the theory of hydroelasticity of ship.Particularly the three dimensional hydroelasticity theory has been extensively applied to a wide range of fluid-structure interaction problems in the field of naval architecture and marine engineering.In this paper a state of art review has been carried out on the worldwide theoretical and experimental study on the hydroelasticity of ships.The hydroelasticity theory is divided into 2D linear,3D linear,2D nonlinear and 3D nonlinear,each of them is discussed respectively,concentrated on the theory and application of the hydroelasticity of ship moving in waves.The advances achieved in the study of the elastic ship model are emphasized when the hydroelastic experiments of ship are concerned.
