Joint consideration of grouping and loading problems in a flexible manufacturing system

SUMMARY The combined problem of grouping and loading in a flexible manufacturing system is formulated as a multistage multiobjective optimization model. The min-max approach to multiobjective optimization is used to obtain a compromise solution. The application of the model is illustrated by an example.
