Functional specification of a dynamic process planning system

Abstract This paper describes the functional specification developed for a process planning system which takes into account both the static and dynamic capabilities of the manufacturing shop. The system includes knowledge of resource capability and availability to help assess the viability of process plans, and a module to provide feedback to the designer regarding the manufacturability of parts being designed.
