THE GENERAL CORRELATIONS DISCOVERED IN THE PRECEDING PAPER BY THE FIRST TWO AUTHORS ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL FOR EACH OF THE FIVE VARIABLES DISCUSSED THEREIN, AND THE PREDICTIVE EQUATION DERIVED BY REGRESSION ANALYSIS IS RECOMMENDED FOR POSSIBLE USE IN DESIGN PROCEDURES. THIS RECOMMENDATION IS EXEMPLIFIED IN A TABLE THAT LISTS INDIRECT TENSILE STRENGTHS FOR VARIOUS CURING TEMPERATURES AND VARIOUS LIME, CLAY, AND WATER CONTENTS. IT IS NOTED THAT THE EMPIRICAL METHODS OFTEN USED IN DESIGN ARE VERY LIMITED WITH RESPECT TO LIME-TREATED SUBBASE MATERIALS AND THAT THE PERFORMANCE RECORDS OF THESE MATERIALS IN RIGID PAVEMENTS IN TEXAS HAVE GENERALLY BEEN POOR.
