An adaptive correction of quadreture errors in homodyne receiver

The effect of the gain and phase mismatches between the in-phase and quadrature channels is discussed.An adaptive algorithm for correcting the quadrature errors in a homodyne receiver is proposed.The tracking capability of the proposed algorithm is analysed by computer simulations.The results indicate that the adaptive algorithm offers adequate tracking performance for time-varying phase and gain errors,reducing the matching requirements of the analog front-end.
