A Actinomycetes AG⁃56, which has the strong ability of utilizing diverse carbon source, was isolated from the soil sampled in Shaanxi Qinling forest by using Aniline Blue plate method. The AG⁃56 belongs to Streptomyces through16S rRNA identification. The degradation ability of AG⁃56 for Aniline Blue was investigated in liquid culture media. The results show that all of the three group compounds in Aniline Blue with absorption wavelength of (602, 314 and192 nm) can be degraded and adsorbed by AG⁃56. The maximal degradation rate was 72% for 602 nm group. Streptomyces AG⁃56 shows great potential in the wastewater decolorizing, especially in tri⁃aryl methane type dye wastewater.
