Analysis of the Connectivity between Vehicular Platoon and Roadside Unit Based on the Moving Pattern

By taking the platoon as the research unit, this paper studies the connectivity between vehicles and the roadside units in the vehicular network. We focus on the moving pattern of arriving vehicles in a platoon, and the connectivity probability analysis had transformed into the calculation of the length of vehicle platoon composition. We propose that the headway of the vehicle in platoon is subject to a lognormal distribution, in the case of large traffic flow, and then deduce the probability model of the platoon length by convolution formula. The traffic data on the real road section is simulated by the traffic simulation software SUMO, and the results verified the correctness of the proposed probability model.
