Airworthiness certification for transport category aircraft under icing conditions is an important safeguard to ensure flight safety.Together with a six degree-of-freedom computational flight dynamics model, two different icing effect models are developed to study the effects of ice accretion on sensitivity of dynamic response to pilot command inputs, and the aircraft climb performance between clean and iced aircraft are also explored.Based on the results presented in the paper,it is concluded that the icing can decrease aircraft's effectiveness in maneuvering, which will deteriorate dynamic response accordingly. In particular, imbalance in ice distribution on aircraft can lead to departure from controlled flight, therefore endanger the flight safety. The conclusions can provide references for airworthiness certification under icing conditions.
