Tri-Station Location System in 2D Surface Based on Time Difference Self Measurement of Main Station

The relative time difference self measurement based on main station only can be achieved using retransmit from slave station. The time-of-arrival location equations can be obtained by fundamental location principle and the number of equations is equal to that from slave station. Moreover, the additional equations can also be derived by cosine law according to plane geometry. As a result the equation on target coordinates can be completely determined. Based on error estimation theory, the simulation result obtained from tri-stations as V shape symmetric array in plane coordinates proved that the error characteristics only based on non-synchronous mode and relative time difference self measurement of main station is not the same as that from multi sites location system based on inter-stations time synchronization technique, where an essential performance is that the measurement blind zone is not observed in directions of the extended line between two stations.
