Design of Multi-vehicle Flexible Rotational System Based on Green Dismantling of End-of-Life Vehicles

Recycle and reuse of end-of-life vehicles is an extension of auto industry chain, which is a vital link for perfection of the entire auto industry chain. Furthermore, it takes an indispensible role in resource saving, environment protection and social public security. While domestic crafts for recycling dismantling of end-of-life vehicles fall behind presently, dismantling process is regulated by the application of rotation machine for end-of-life vehicles, improving dismantling efficiency. At present, there exist multiple types of rotation machines for end-of-life vehicles in market. However, most of them can only conduct simple clamping and rotation operation with pure mechanical structure. With low level of automation, they cannot be suitable for diverse kinds of vehicles, lower workers’ dismantling efficiency and go against the classification recovery for materials. This paper designed a multi-vehicle flexible rotational system based on green dismantling of end-of-life vehicles, adopting Dspic30F5015 of Microchip Company as control chip and accomplishing control software design for CNC system and displacement driven system. It accomplished not only auto running of rotation system, but also manual adjustment for each action of the rotation system with touch screen. Specifically, MPLAB-IDE software developed by Microchip Company was selected to complete the main program design for the multi-vehicle flexible rotational system. System debugging was conducted employing MPLAB SIM simulator of MPLAB-IDE. The results showed that software and hardware design were rational for multi-vehicle flexible rotational system. It accomplished the corresponding control order and diverse kinds of operation. Taking the touch screen as operation interface, the operation was easy and convenient. It could intuitively determine the movement location of each axis, thereby improving control accuracy and work efficiency. In addition, Dspic30F5015 chip had powerful data processing and computing abilities, which improved development efficiency of the system and satisfy control demands. Mechanized accurate operation can be accomplished for the green dismantling of end-of-life vehicles adopting multi-vehicle flexible rotational system. It lowers complexity and difficulties of manual operation, saves labor and enhances working security. Besides, fixed point can be regulated according to type of each sort of vehicle chassis for improving working efficiency and saving cost, which can effectively increase the recovery efficiency for parts of end-of-life vehicles.
