Energy Analysis and Performance Evaluation of Garment-Embedded Oriented Wireless Sensor Network

In order to meet the requirements of personal physiological monitoring, the Garment-Embedded Wireless Sensor Network based on IEEE802.15.4 is proposed in order to collect and transmit various vital signals. Focusing on ECG signals as the research object, this paper describes the wireless-transmission scheme and the test of its validity and reliability. By comparing network performance and analyzing consumed energy in two transmission mechanisms when using NS2 as the simulation platform, it is established that the Slotted Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance mechanism in Beacon-enabled network is more suitable in GE-WSN.
