Decision-directed coherent delay-locked PN tracking loop for DS-CDMA

In this paper, a new implementation of the decision-directed coherent PN delay locked loop (DLL) is proposed for DS-CDMA that uses pilot symbol-aided coherent data detection. The performance of the proposed coherent DLL is evaluated by computer simulation. Computer simulation results show that it can significantly reduce the rms tracking jitter of the regenerated spreading code replica, thereby improving bit error rate (BER) performance in fading environments.
