Cross reactions of polyglucoses in antipneumococcal sera. V. Precipitation by glycogens and limit dextrins.

Summary 1.Quantitative data are given on the precipitation of antibody nitrogen from a variety of antipneumococcal horse sera by various glycogens and dextrins derived from them. 2.The data are shown to be in accord with predictions made from a quantitative theory of the precipitin reaction and with the requirements of the chemical structures of the carbohydrates involved. 3.Inferences are drawn regarding probable details of composition and structure of the specific polysaccharides of pneumococcal Types IX, XII, XX, and XXII.
