Method and apparatus for transmitting channel quality information in orthogonal frequency division multiple communication system

The present invention is an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) efficiently transmitting channel information in a way of the communication system, and asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) time-division channel information transmission method in a communication system using dynamic channel allocation and adaptive modulation to a method and apparatus for determining parameters required for use. Subcarriers are divided into a plurality of sub-carrier group containing at least one subcarrier of a plurality of subcarriers in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system which allocates services to a plurality of mobile terminals. The mobile terminal are transmitted in a transmission time corresponding to the mobile terminal so as not to overlap between the plurality of transmission parameters determined in accordance with the channel quality information, and the determined channel quality information in advance for each of the subcarrier groups. The base station receives the channel quality information and dynamically assigned to the mobile terminal of the plurality of the plurality of sub-carriers according to the received channel quality information and determines the modulation schemes for the plurality of mobile terminals. The present invention reduces the amount of channel information that needs to be transferred to address the overhead of uplink signaling effectively. OFDM, CPICH, HS-PDSCH, HS-PDCCH, CQI
