PURPOSE: A digital photographing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to conveniently complete an authentication procedure by removing an external input procedure necessary to authenticate a procedure for accessing a website. CONSTITUTION: When the access to a website is tried, a first communication unit(180) requests from a portable terminal the authentication information for the access to the website and receives the authentication information from the portable terminal. A second communication unit(190) transmits the authentication information to a web server for managing the website and communicates with the website. The authentication information comprises a certification password and a log-in ID for the address of the website. When the access to the website is disconnected, the authentication information is deleted.
