A nonlinear control plan with ladder variable thrust was presented for attitude tracking problem in the terminal guidance of kinetic interceptor (KI).Firstly, attitude dynamic model of KI was established and requirements of attitude tracking was analyzed. Control law was designed by terminal sliding-mode control method. The ignition logic was designed for an array of solid micro-rocket as the control actuator to product ladder variable thrust. Finally, numerical simulations were performed and results demonstrated that stable attitude tracking with high precision was attained in finite time, which overcame the disadvantages of traditional attitude approach.
