OFFSHORE WELL COMPLETION OPERATIONAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION AND STRUCTURING

The institutional memory is a major asset of a company. It is maintained by editing and reviewing technical documents, such as reports, manuals, safety guidelines, etc., all of them written in natural language. Editing these technical documents, one should have specialized knowledge about specific fields of human activity and the company itself. This paper describes a method to acquire and to structure the institutional memory from registered experiences (daily reports), based on the following concepts: evolutive learning, fuzzy logic, neural nets and knowledge graphs. Results of applying this method to analyze daily reports about Brazilian offshore well completion, are presented and support the conclusion that the institutional memory may be recalled by means of computerized processing of natural language data bases.
