New Tabu Search Algorithm to Design an Electric Motor

This paper presents a new Tabu search algorithm used to design an electric motor with the best torque density while respecting some technological constraints. Tabu Search is a metaheuristic method designed for finding approximate solution of hard combinatorial optimization problems like the design of a switched reluctance motor. A comparison of the results obtained by our algorithm shows that the best solution is obtained quickly in comparison with other approach like genetic algorithm and hybrid algorithm.
