SuccessiveMulti-user Detector withOrdering for SignalshavingDifferent Symbol Rates

This paper proposes asuccessive multi-user detector thatdetects signals withdifferent symbolrates. Theproposed multi-user detector successively detects signals based onrejection ofout-of-band signals andreplica generation using soft-decision outputs fromchannel decoders. Moreover, anordering method, whichdecides thedetection orderoftheproposed multi-user detector basedonthesignal-to-interf erence-plus-noise ratio in consideration ofthesignal bandwidths ofeachsignal, ispro- posed inorder toenhance themulti-user detection performance. Simulation results showthatemploying theproposed ordering method cangreatly improve themulti-user detection performance whenthetraining periods ofeachsignal areoverlapped, asin thecasewhentheframes ofeachsignal aresynchronized. The results alsoshowthattheBER performance oftheproposed detector canbefurther improved byusing theordering method forthecasewhenthetraining periods ofeachsignal arenot overlapped, asinthecasewhentheframes ofeachsignal are notsynchronized.
