REVIEW OF CLOUD NETWORK OPTIMIZATION PRACTICES

In this paper, we reviewed the specific area of network optimization within cloud data centre environment. Based on our knowledge, this specific review writing had not been done before, presumably due to the small number of references related to it. However, we managed to organize this review by categorizing it into its benefits, methods of optimization, and field cases. Based on the cases we found, we grouped the optimization methods into four types; resources re-allocation, routing, special devices, and protocol development. A cloud data centre has special characteristics and parameters, that if optimized will improve the network performance and eventually the overall cloud services. Significant optimization results can even expand the business of a company, from being a private internal cloud provider, into a commercial enterprise class cloud provider. As more enterprises moving into virtualization in huge portion of their facilities, it is an after-math for them to consider progressing their virtual infrastructure into a cloud facility, where the network itself can be optimized in specific ways.
